Yercaud, often referred to as the "Jewel of the South," is a tranquil hill station nestled in the Shevaroy Hills of Tamil Nadu, India.   • Yercaud Lake (Emerald Lake): The heart of the town, this natural lake is surrounded by lush gardens and woods. Enjoy pedal, row, or motorboat rides. The nearby Anna Park and Deer Park make it a perfect picnic spot.
  • Lady's Seat: A natural rock formation offering a panoramic viewpoint of Salem city below and the winding ghat road. It's famous for its stunning sunset views and is equipped with a mounted telescope for closer observation.

Waterfalls and Nature

  • Kiliyur Falls: A breathtaking 300-foot waterfall cascading down into a forested valley. The best time to visit is post-monsoon. Be prepared for a short trek down about 250 steep steps to reach the base.

  • From Bangalore: 220 km.
  • Regular Buses: TNSTC and private buses ply frequently between Salem and Yercaud.

By Train

The nearest major railway station is Salem Junction (SXM), which is well-connected to major Indian cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, and Kochi. From Salem Junction, you can take a bus or hire a taxi to Yercaud.

By Air

The nearest commercial airport is Tiruchirappalli International Airport (TRZ), about 165 km away. Coimbatore Airport (CJB) is about 190 km away. Both have regular connections from major Indian cities.
